This delightful holiday cottage is located in lush North Devon countryside, where guests can enjoy picturesque and peaceful walks through the 20-acre fields including an enchanting ancient woodland. Whether you’re exploring by foot or bicycle there are great options nearby.
Umberleigh train station (1.8 miles) has good connections to Barnstable and Exeter for a range of shopping. The Tarka Trail has 180 miles of off-road cycling with views of the sea and places to stop for refreshments. For something special, treat yourself to a spa day at Northcote Manor, only 4 miles away. In addition, guests can enjoy other fun days out including many National Trust properties, RHS Rosemoor (10 miles) set in 100 acres of woodland, or Dartington Crystal (9 miles), where you can see traditional glass blowing in action or have a go at some of the creative activities on offer. North Devon has stunning blue flag award-winning Beaches which include Westward-Ho! (15 miles), Staunton Sands (16 miles), Croyde (20 miles) and Woolacombe (24 miles), which are all great for swimming and surfing.
Situated outside the small village of High Bickington with access via a quiet country lane, this traditional Devon Long House cottage has been sympathetically decorated to a high standard keeping many of its traditional features. Step into this traditional open plan cottage with a light and airy interior, vaulted ceilings and traditional oak beams. Kick off those muddy boots and settle down in front of the log burner in the snug for a board game with family and friends. The open-plan kitchen has everything you need to cook up a favourite recipe or a great British breakfast to start the day off. Downstairs is a king-size bedroom and family bathroom with walk-in shower and WC. Take the stairs to two more bedrooms, one double and one twin room. Upstairs you will also find a comfortable lounge area where you can enjoy picturesque ever-changing views over the Taw Valley and watch the wildlife come and go, there is also a smart TV to enjoy movie nights in the cooler evenings.
Access the pretty garden through patio doors and enjoy dining alfresco with the charcoal BBQ whilst enjoying the stunning views across the Taw Valley. Enjoy a bit of star gazing into the North Devon dark skies, where you might even see shooting stars.
