Beach Hut Holidays
Dungeness
Kent

This fascinating converted railway carriage offers stylish, light and airy holiday accommodation throughout for a quirky getaway in Britain’s only ‘desert’. A dog walkers, artist’s and bird watchers paradise in Dungeness Kent.

The property is nestled on the shingle expanse of Dungeness, which boasts big dramatic skies, a shingle beach and spectacular scenery set within a 468-acre nature reserve. Once you have finished exploring the area on foot, hop on the nearby Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway to forge the Kent coastline or climb to the top of the Old Dungeness Lighthouse where, if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot the French coastline.

The front door at the side of the building opens into a small lobby area for leaving coats and boots. Here you will also notice the original water pump, which has been retained as a character feature. The bright and airy space beyond is an open plan kitchen and dining room with a curved beamed ceiling, wooden flooring and large bi-folding doors flooding the space with natural light. The contemporary kitchen features an electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with small integral freezer and cafetiere while the dining table for four sits next to the bi-folding doors to offer a spectacular view while dining. In the lounge, two comfortable sofas face a striking wall with a woodburner, in front of which guests can unwind while watching a film on the TV with DVD player, listening to music on the CD player or make use of one of the board games. The first bedroom has a double bed and is bright and spacious with a curved ceiling, white walls and large windows. The second bedroom has a single cabin bed, which can also be converted into a double, and has a telescope for admiring the pollution-free night sky. There is one family bathroom with shower over bath. Please note that height is restricted in certain areas of the property.

Decked areas line both sides of this property to provide spectacular vistas either side. Here, guests can sit at the original railway bench and driftwood table with a cup of coffee admiring Dungeness shingle beach beyond.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
