Railway Cottage
Pickering
Yorkshire Moors

Calling all train fans and country lovers – this delightful cottage is set in the bustling and picturesque market town of Pickering, perfect for a group of four friends looking to explore the North York Moors and experience the heritage railway.

The town itself has a variety of independent shops, pubs, and plenty of lovely eateries to enjoy. Historic Pickering Castle is well worth a visit, or head 8 miles to Hole of Horcum (8 miles), a natural amphitheatre in the valley. Take a trip by car or on the steam train to Whitby (21 miles) and soak up the sun on the sandy beach at this seaside resort.

This cottage dates back to the 18th century and though renovated, contains its traditional character and charm. Head up a couple of steps and enter into a spacious hallway which has plenty of room for coats and boots. The lounge has a warming wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace, exposed wooden beams, and plenty of comfortable seating for cosy evenings in watching films. A contemporary kitchen/diner has everything you need to cook up a storm, while the dining area is tucked away in a cosy nook with seating for all guests. A handy cloakroom with WC completes the downstairs. Heading up the staircase with open balustrades, you will find two double bedrooms. Both of which have en-suite shower rooms with WCs, and the front bedroom overlooks the railway line.

At the rear of the cottage and down a few steps is a lovely gravelled garden. Surrounded by colourful flowers, the patio has garden furniture. Take a seat of an evening with a glass of wine and ponder the day’s events.
