This Victorian spa town is a pleasure to visit with 30 natural springs, picturesque lake, pavilion and range of events, shops and eateries to enjoy alongside the National Cycle Museum and Radnorshire Museum, not forgetting its renowned golf club. Explore the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys, visit the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, head to the internationally renowned Hergest Croft Gardens, go book hunting in Hay-on-Wye or take the Old Mountain Road to Aberystwyth. Set in magnificent countryside full of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways to explore and enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wildlife watching, photography, arts, crafts, music and events. A perfect spot to unwind or seek adventure in Mid Wales.

As you approach this cedar clad property the views and lodge are stunning. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is stylishly furnished with beautiful features such as the doors and tables made from locally grown Douglas Fir and Ash, bi-fold doors opening on to the patio and all the thoughtful little extras for year round comfort such as the underfloor heating. The kitchen area is well-equipped with gas oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge with ice compartment. If you decide to eat in the table is perfectly positioned to gather round and embrace the fabulous view. On chillier evenings you can light the wood burner and relax on the comfortable sofa watch the wildlife, choose a film or lose yourself in a good book. Either side of the lounge area are two sumptuous bedrooms, one as a super-king and one as a twin (though both can be made as super-king or twin on request). Both bedrooms have a luxury en-suite shower with WC and soft towels. This exceptional property is a real pleasure to holiday in.

Surrounded by rolling countryside and wildlife, this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Enjoy alfresco dining on the patio with table and chairs, or head to the sunken seating area by the fire pit to watch the wildlife or appreciate the dark skies stargazing. If you are keen on cycling or golf there is a secure bicycle store with wash down facilities, washing machine and drying facilities for wet boots and clothes. Please note that shared facilities (e.g. washing machine) are not currently available for guest use due to Covid-19 social distancing measures. You can also find a “enclosed” area in the garden for the dogs. Private drive with off-road parking for two cars. The lodge is set in two acres of grounds and maintains its own privacy, adjacent to the owners’ seven acre home and stables.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
